An edition full of novelties
5 de June de 2025The Moisés Ruiz sports hall, in Almería, has hosted this Wednesday the official presentation of the 2025 Škoda Titan Desert Almería. A race that is already in its sixth edition in Andalusian territory and that in 2024 sold out registrations with a peloton of 500 cyclists.
The event was attended by representatives of all the institutions directly involved in the organization of the race. Fernando Giménez, vice-president of the Diputación de Almería; Antonio Jesús Casimiro, councilman of Sports of Almería and Aránzazu Martín Moya, delegate of the Government of the Junta de Andalucía in Almería, as well as Jesús García, CEO of the Titan World Series, and Manuel Tajada, sport director of Titan World Series, took part in the presentation.
The event has served to announce the route of the race: four stages that will be disputed between October 2nd and 5th, as well as to present the novelties of the race and its characteristics.
Each of the days will be marked by a different landscape and a different challenge: a first stage in Cabo de Gata, a second in the desert of Tabernas, the third in which Velefique summit will be climbed and a last one in which, as usual, the military base of the Legion Álvarez de Sotomayor will be crossed.

CIPOLLINI AND MANY OTHER NOVELTIES
Manuel Tajada has emphasized one of the great sporting novelties of the edition: the new format in electric bicycle. A non-sporting modality that would be disputed coinciding with the last two days of the race: October 4th and 5th. “It is a format that we have already tested in Morocco with great success. Electric bicycles are a reality that is increasingly present and we can not turn a deaf ear from the Titan World Series,” he explained.
On the sporting side, the race promises to be very entertaining, both for the participation of elite cyclists and for the presence of icons of road cycling. So far, former world champion Mario Cipollini and seven-time Spanish champion Luis León Sánchez, among others, have confirmed their presence.
