Guillermo Prieto

2 de October de 2025

Guillermo Prieto Hortelano is a newcomer to Titan World Series events. However, he is a veteran of ultra-endurance formats. The Guipúzcoa native has participated in several long-distance mountain bike events and has been victorious in several of them.

Guillermo’s achievement is even more remarkable given that he does it with a prosthetic leg. He lost his leg in a work accident years ago. He came to the Škoda Titan Desert Almería as part of the Cleardent team and is one of those people who does not go unnoticed in the peloton.

“My biggest fear is the sand. That’s where I suffer the most because of my prosthesis,” admits the Guipúzcoa native. But it doesn’t look like it’s going to be a problem. In today’s stage, perhaps the sandiest of the route, he has already finished among the top 120 riders.

What Guillermo represents, in any case, goes far beyond sporting results: “In many cases, I can serve as an example, because I also like to support charitable causes and raise awareness of them.”

And if the accident involving his leg has had any influence on him, it has been for the better: “The disability has also been a kind of incentive. What happened to me happened, but it’s not the end of the world. The disability is what drives me to keep cycling. It encourages me to keep riding”.
